History of Promark
About Us
Promark International Distributing evolved from a food brokerage firm by the name of Proactive Sales & Marketing. Proactive Sales & Marketing was the oldest food brokerage firm in Chicago dating back to 1906, originally under the name of L. H. Frohman. In 1999 the name was changed from L. H. Frohman to Proactive Sales & Marketing.
While many of the Chicago food brokers were merged or purchased by larger national organizations, Proactive Sales stayed independent and concentrated on servicing the manufacturers we represented and the customers we serviced.
Over the years we represented many brands that were #1 within their given categories. Brands such as: Krusteaz Pancake Mix, Filippo Berio Olive Oil, Dececco Pasta, Hormel and the list goes on. Promark distributes food items, wine and spirits throughout the State of Illinois. Our customers include grocery stores, liquor stores and restaurants. Our strength is in our ability to distribute the food items and alcoholic beverages for much less than other distributors in Illinois without compromising a high service level.
